About Hack@BVP 4.0

Hack@BVP 4.0 is a 12-hour hackathon. Its mission is to provide a thrilling experience to students, developers, and anyone interesting in coding. Teams of developers, designers, and marketers will come together to build functioning apps, websites, programs and innovative solutions to tackle COVID-19 issues in just 12 hours.


The COVID-19 pandemic has come to be one of the most crucial global health crises that the world has ever witnessed. It has created huge challenges for the government, workers in healthcare, businesses, educational institutions etc. The situation is grim, but we have to make the best out of what we have.
Online education was never the norm, but lockdowns all over the world have made people switch to it anyway, making it a viable solution to access education today. People from all walks of life are getting acquainted with and embracing technology, knowing that learning should never stop.
In this pandemic situation, a little effort from every individual can go a long way. The motivation behind the themes for this online hackathon is the current COVID-19 situation.  This hackathon is an opportunity for developers to build social impact-driven innovative software solutions to address some of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 epidemic.

Judging Criteria


Theme

How much the solution is aligned with mentioned theme.

Uniqueness/ Originality

Whether the idea has been thought already by someone.

Feasability

The functional and technical feasibility of the solution.

Cost of Implementation

How much cost would it need (cost-benefit analysis) with its feasibility.

Effectiveness of Idea

How much it would effect the world.

Implementation completeness

How much of it you have successfully implemented and demonstrated.



Rules

Each team will be given time to present and pitch their ideas. The rules to be kept in mind are -


  1. Allowed team size is 2-5 participants.
  2. At the time of RSVP all team members/ participants are requested to upload a valid College ID to verify their details.
  3. Changes in teams are allowed with prior permission. You may contact us for the same incase needed.
  4. A refundable security fee of ₹100 per team has to be deposited.
  5. Last Date of Registrations is 28th August 2020.
  6. The platform for presenting your idea will be Microsoft Teams and the team will be required to share the screen to present and demonstrate the idea.
  7. Video of all participants should be on while presenting the idea.
  8. For any announcement or easy communication for the Hackathon, a Whatsapp group will be made which will include all the team leaders only.
  9. Cross College teams are also allowed to promote collaborations among participants.
  10. Timings of Hackathon 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (IST)

Anyone who loves to learn and build cool stuff can attend. Whether you have a background in data science, programming, design or business – we want to invite a diverse community to have fun and solve interesting problems!

It is a 12 Hour long Online Hackathon.

The primary goal is to have fun, connect with new people and build something cool. The secondary goal is to solve an exciting and challenging problem that could impact thousands of lives every day.

We are currently only looking for complete teams. We encourage you to reach out to your friends and colleagues at your university or work.

The challenges are based on real-life problems that MAN and other players in the transport industry face on a day-to-day basis. We provide rich real-world data and descriptions of unsolved problems which you are free to choose from.
